Hurrah I managed to finish rooting a head.

I tried posting on my ipad the other day but that doesn't seem to have worked, never mind , must be doing something wrong.

I have at last finished rooting a dolls head. I have been doing some dolls with painted heads as rooting takes me so long.
The doll I have finished I had originally intended to paint but now the rooting is done I am so glad I took the time to root. The sculpt is Fei Yen and she has turned into a lovely sort of mixed race baby. This one is supposed to be 22-23 inches so I've ordered the body accordingly and hope it works out that size. At the moment her head in in a cup waiting on the glue drying. She has wonderful dark brown glass eyes , can't wait to put her together.

In the meantime I have a little Molly Marie boy on ebay

Here Ben

I now have to chose the next head in the rooting queue. There is usually a queue of heads, some dolls I feel just have to be rooted.

I am also nearing completion of another Adrie sculpt, the newly released Thandie. I do have some lovely curly mohair so this ethnic baby is going to jump ahead in the rooting queue and get hair next. The mohair is the beautiful soft one by Susan Nagel, really looking forward to using it in dark brown black.

Luisa - Molly Marie girl

I am so enjoying making these little Molly Marie non jointed babies.
This is Lusia. I thought she looked Italian with her colouring so hence the name She looks delicious in pink.

Here's Billy

Here's Billy all done and on ebay tonight. Please take a look. See him here  Billy
My  desktop computer is being very odd at the moment and I have lost my HMTL editor so apologies for any typos.
He is a rather cute little boy. He is wearing Tiny Baby size clothing and fits him perfectly.

And just a preview of my next toddler girl. I have not had time to move her around much to get the photos yet. She is a Tibby sculpt and has lovely blue eyes and is wearing a Monique wig in brown. I have custom cut it to a bob which works well I think.

She looks as though the wind has been blowing in her hair in the car!!

A boy in the oven

I have just put the limbs of my first Molly Marie in the oven so I have 8 minutes to blog! This is the first of this kit I have ever tried out and I have been very nervous of the non jointed version as it comes with the body attach and you  must NOT EVER take it off or you are sunk. I'm sure some of you will have seen this sculpt on ebay  - some people buy it for children.

Well I put a tiny vest ( courtesy of granddaughter who is now about 10 times the size - where does time go?) on over the cloth body to try not to get paint on it. And having used the heat gun for the painting am now giving him the final whizz in the oven before putting him together - and yes it is a boy I am convinced of it  - particularly as I have shaded his painted hair to the boy side  not quite thinking when I started to paint it.

Here is his face lying on a pile of ironing in the kitchen - I didn't want to return him to the work trolley in case I removed some paint.

Ping - he's cooked.
